A extrema-esquerda ataca directamente a UE, questionando a utilidade desta relíquia do século passado. Como não tem uma narrativa anti-UE , o PS refugia-se num ódio fácil contra a Alemanha e contra Merkel. Nos anos 80, os socialistas adoravam odiar Thatcher. Aliás, pensavam que ter um pensamento sobre a UE era o mesmo que xingar Thatcher.
